How refreshing! Finally a novel for homeschooling kids and parents to take a grand adventure right there at home. While setting sail in ultimate luxury they will see a youngster face inner and outer challenges in a nobel and enlightening manner. The main character builds inner confidence while grappling with resentments, loss, fear, insecurity, excitement and joy. It is a lovely, pleasing read and has a terrific glossary of terms at the back of the book. The author outdid herself with educational resources. There is also online information and information about the life at sea. What a way to expand an entire family’s horizons. Share the book at night after dinner with a read aloud and watch the faces revel in the various ports of call, adventures and aquatic fun. The illustrations are wonderful and keep the young reader from feeling that the text is endless. All kids and grown up kids will enjoy this exciting and revitalizing read.
